Arcade Closure:

Chicago, Illinois, December 9, 2023 — API Heat Transfer, Inc. (“API”) will close its Arcade, New York facility and transfer production to existing API facilities, including Franklin, Iron Ridge and Racine Wisconsin; Buffalo New York; and Suzhou China, based on customer feedback and production capabilities, to increase efficiency and better utilize existing capacity.

The company will provide financial and other transition assistance to the 130 employees who are affected by this closure and will meet with employees to discuss options including transfer to other API locations. API will also provide a financial incentive package for employees to remain at Arcade until the final day of production, currently expected to be April 30, 2024. The company is working with the New York Rapid Response program to help employees gain access to opportunities with local employers.

“Providing transition support to our Arcade employees is our number-one priority,” said Rick Ruzga, Vice President and General Manager of the Airtech business unit. “We appreciate their commitment, and we hope many of them will continue in roles at other API locations, including our fast-growing Buffalo, New York location and 3 manufacturing locations in Wisconsin. The difficult decision demonstrates our commitment to operational excellence and customer focus as we drive performance, reduce costs, improve capacity utilization, and build on our strategy of making API stronger in the long-term.”
